Political House of Alighieri
We seek active roleplayers who strive for continuous storylines; whether long term or short term. Our goal is not to have a large family, but to provide and receive quality roleplay wherever we are. If you are interested in being Marco's or Melek's brother, sister, aunt, uncle, OR damned MOTHER and FATHER; or having your own family branch within the House of Alighieri; please let us know.
We do not like to have too many people with the same surname on a sim because it could create cliques, drama and intimidate others, (yes, that happens). There is power in numbers, but there is also power in 1 person doing quality writing. Most people only come to SL Gor to fuck, spend hours on IMs joking or gossiping and to spoil RP, cause drama and make fun of other people, and also just engaging in some short-lived scenes that have zero long lasting substance. Super hot pixels, pew-pew and the best mesh outfits are not what creates quality roleplay all the time. We encourage our members to make their avatars look as good as they want or can afford. But we believe there are more important factors to roleplay than appearances.
As serious, considerate, responsible and funny individuals; the leaders of the family have a strong understanding of BTB Gorean life from the literature of John Norman, epic story weaving, and have dealt with how stupid SL Gor can be. You will have a father who knows how to be a real Free Man in attitude and action, the patriarch to men and women whose best interests are sought after, both politically and economically. Without a doubt, Marco enforces the family law and upholds city laws with the right hand, then provides affection or punishments with the left hand when due. You will also have a rather sassy mother. Above all, you will have the unique opportunity to lead your roleplay, regardless of a collar case, companion arrangement slip outs, or to be breaching the law in some way, and all other types of scenarios. Such actions will only be provided with corresponding in character consequences, not OOC drama on your IM box or being kicked out from the group. We will still be friends in SL. If you thought legit families were finished in SL Gor, think again LOL.
Application Process:
Please contact Marco Alighieri (xxAimleexx Resident) to join the house. All backstories will be 90% adjusted to fit the needs of roleplayers, especially if something doesn't make sense to you. There is no written application beyond answering a few SL background questions, matching or creating a role for you and providing your usual online times.
Requirements:
1. You must have a paragraph or semi-paragraph writing styles, a clear understanding of roleplay terms; (IC/OOC modes, Megataming, Godmoding, Powergaming, Trolling, Griefing, Lifestyle.
2. You should have a reasonable amount of experience with BTB Gorean roleplay; no matter the region, status, families or previous roles from before. Anything counts.
3. You must have at least read some of the books to know how Gor should be like while considering the constraints of Secondlife.
4. You should be able to lead your own roleplay, spend time out in the city or village; expanding your story with other people in whatever position or business you have. As a tight-knit group; we do love to have plenty of family roleplay, but we are not a clique. You can't always depend on relatives in order to grow, no matter the hard or funny moments. YOU HAVE A STORY with all kinds of possibilities and consequences depending on the actions and choices your character makes.

Gregorio Alighieri

Gregorio was rather proud of being the grandson of infamous Marcus Alighieri, Commander of a combined Cosian fleet. Whilst communicating with his family, Gregorio left Turia at an early age and trained to become a warrior in the City of Jad. He was appointed Captain of the harbor guard while apprenticing his grandfather at sea, earning the fame of being the most dreaded fighter to live on the island. His most notable personality traits are simplicity and precision.

Luca Alighieri
Luca knows nothing but expeditions, map making and fighting during explorations of new lands beyond precedence. He vowed to travel further than Ramini and Shaba after spending his childhood studying the manuscripts of these explorers, wherever he found them. He always avoided attachments to politics, such as companionships and caste life in cities. As Merchant Magistrate of the Alighieri ships, Lucas is constantly sailing the bustling Thassa and Vosk rivers for trade.

With little interest for riches and lofty lifestyles, Sydena became a scholar within the caste scribe, she went to spend her time living amongst the Tuchuck tribe out in the plains of Turia, working with Year Keepers and bringing knowledge to the people. She never left Turia even if most of the siblings did.

Only but a woman in the warrior caste; who has traveled some, she is perhaps the bravest and strongest of her sisters. Miriam is incredibly stubborn and sarcastic, traits born out of her mother's over-protectiveness. She is also a very caring and compassionate person, willing to defend the codes of her caste and those she loves at all costs.

Always shadowed by the power of her mother; Melek and grandmother; Ubara Antoinette, Valentina experienced the loftiest of upbringings, receiving the finest scribe apprenticeship to exist in the City of Turia. Her clear fierceness and intelligence were almost compared with that of her brothers, maturing to be quiet an unbeatable woman during political debates. At the age of 155, she was permitted to follow her father beyond the Prairies, the Island of Cos, and far along the Vosk River.
